Plum Island, Newburyport Engagement Session: A + S

Aug 18, 2014 | Engagements

A couple of weeks ago, I headed over to Plum Island, just outside Newburyport, for this sweet couple’s engagement session.  We met up a couple of hours before sunset to explore the island; I’d been to the northern beach before, but never into the Parker River Wildlife Refuge, and it is just gorgeous there.  The refuge is home to a couple of endangered bird species, and it’s also full of the not-so-endangered bird-spotter species.  🙂  I think everyone was surprised to see an engagement session being photographed there but we were warmly greeted, and it’s just such a perfect spot for photos.

Plum Island is special because it has not only some beautiful beaches, but also salt marshes, fields of interesting shrubs and wildflowers, and there are several great spots facing back west for those all-important sunset silhouette photos (the last photo is one of my very favorite silhouette photos I’ve taken!)

Thank you A and S for spending your evening with me making fun images; I hope you like these teasers, and I can’t wait for your wedding next summer!
