Colorado Destination Wedding: Leokesh + Tony

Aug 15, 2014 | Slideshows

Leokesh and Tony got married in beautiful Colorado Springs, CO, my only true destination wedding this year (by which I mean the only one I got to fly to!) The ceremony was held at Monument Valley Park, and the reception was up in the hills northwest of Colorado Springs, at the Franciscan Retreat Center. For their first look, we hit up Garden of the Gods, *the* must-see place in the Springs, then drove around a couple of spots for their couples portraits. I loved the contrast of the red rocks against the bright blue sky and green shrubs.

Leokesh got ready at home, surrounded by family and friends. She and her mom Leonor cooked up a storm the night before and day of the wedding – they catered for 80 or so guests with an amazing assortment of dishes – stews and curries, and so much beautiful rice. Almost the entire event was DIY, from Kesh’s feather headdress to the wedding decor to the bridesmaids’ gifts (skulls decorated with art reflecting things special to each girl). Even the playlist was crowd-sourced via Facebook!

The ceremony was emotional; the touching speeches from family and friends after dinner even more so. I loved the relaxed atmosphere throughout the day, the inside and out reception, and the natural beauty that surrounded us all day. Thank you Kesh and Tony for trusting me to photograph your beautiful wedding day!
