Katie and Kyle got married on a sunny Saturday afternoon a couple of weeks ago, at the beautiful Codman Estate in Lincoln, MA. I’d been looking forward to this wedding since first meeting Kyle and Katie – they are a really cool couple, with some pretty awesome shared interests (martial arts and manga to name a couple), and they wanted their wedding to really represent their uniqueness as individuals and as a couple.
I started my day at the cottages at Concord’s Colonial Inn where Katie, Kyle, Kyle’s brother, and their moms were getting ready. Here’s Katie’s awesome blush wedding dress – from the label White by Vera Wang.
The always fabulous Claudia Moriel worked her makeup magic on the ladies, and she’s such a doll to have around. Some of Katie’s beautiful details:
Kyle and his brother Tyler were getting ready in the same cottage, upstairs. These photos totally crack me up (and I hope they don’t mind me sharing them!) Kyle must have been channeling US Olympic gymnast McKayla in this first photo … he’s most definitely not impressed!
Katie also had a fun time getting dressed – love these!
And here she is, making the final touches … Katie, you’re so beautiful …
We were originally planning to hold their first look at the Codman Estate, but I found a tiny park across the street from the cottage, and thought it might be fun to do it there. While Kyle was waiting for katie to arrive, he picked a perfect flower to give to her. That was pretty damn cute.
These two sweeties do serious pretty well … but they do cute and giggly even better. 🙂
The Codman Estate is such a gorgeous setting for a wedding – especially the ceremony area with the funky statues and lily pond:
Some photos from the pre-ceremony portrait time:
Katie made a last-minute decision to have her father, Yao, walk her down the aisle. Yao was pretty excited about this – he was Kyle’s martial arts teacher before Katie and Kyle even met (in fact, that’s how they met).
Their officiant was super. And, what a fabulous suit!
Thank you to my fabulous second photographer, Erica, for the beautiful wide shot above … and here’s one of my very favorite images from the day of Kyle. He was beaming throughout:
After the ceremony, we took a few more couples photos around the grounds of the estate. We had some lovely light and beautiful backgrounds to work with.
Cocktail hour was in full swing when we rejoined the group:
There was a game of bocce taking place in the meadow – love this!
Katie and her brother sharing a moment on the little stone wall overlooking the meadow at dusk:
And a few final photos of the crazy party that happened after dinner – yeah, these guys can break-dance (it was pretty awesome to photograph!)
Thank you all for a really fun day, and I hope you’ve enjoyed your teaser photos! I can’t wait to share your full set of images with you in the next week or two!
