Hall at Fauntleroy Wedding: Lena + Jon

May 19, 2009 | Weddings

On Saturday, the sun came out and all was right with the world.  Or at least, all was right in our little corner of the world, out in West Seattle.  Lena and Jon and a lovely, elegant, sweet wedding at The Hall at Fauntleroy, and it was my absolute pleasure to photograph the occasion.  It felt like an incredibly short day for me – just six hours compared to my usual eight, nine or ten hour wedding days – but it was just right.

We started off at Lincoln Park for Jon and Lena’s first look.  They were both so nervous!  Of course, as soon as they turned around and saw each other, the nerves melted away and along came many, many tears of joy – it was very cute watching them share Lena’s handkerchief to wipe their eyes and cheeks.

After some fun family formals, I photographed my first outdoor wedding of the year (yay summer!)  The ceremony, like the first look, was bursting with emotion – such a treat.  The reception started with an indoor-outdoor cocktail hour, then it was in to the gorgeous main room at the Hall where the tables were simply but elegantly decked in purples and whites with beautiful calla lilies at each table.  After dinner and toasts, my fab assistant Dana helped me set up a new and improved photobooth (more props!  bigger backdrop!)  Prop of the night goes to the giant scissors (thanks, Archie McPhee!) and poser of the night has to be the adorable Tamara, whose wedding I photographed last May.  Thanks all for a lovely day and I hope you like the teaser pics … and of course you must check out the highlights slideshow, here.
