West Seattle Wedding Reception: Bree + Justin

Apr 17, 2009 | Weddings

Bree and Justin were married a few weeks ago in sunny California – and no, unfortunately I wasn’t invited!  They had an intimate ceremony with just their nearest and dearest, followed by an amazing honeymoon in the Caribbean (Turks is the place to go according to these cutie-pies).  Last Saturday, they threw a huge celebratory reception bash for their friends and extended families at the gorgeous Hall at Fauntleroy deep in west Seattle, and it was my honor to photograph the revelries.  I started late afternoon with Bree and Justin for some cute couples shots on Alki, and we were joined by family for the formals and their best friends for some wedding party-style shots.

Early evening, we arrived at the Hall to a beautiful spread of orange and peach blooms, fabulous food and an amazing display of cupcakes (triple coconut cupcakes, I heart you!)  After dinner there were the usual toasts and dances, and then an unusually raucous dance party led by Karaoke Kurt.  I was initially disappointed that there was no karaoke, but the smoke machine and crazy dancing more than made up for it 🙂  Of course, we couldn’t photograph a crowd like this without some photobooth action, and it was, as usual, a big hit.

This was one of the most wonderfully laid-back and cheerful groups of people I’ve ever worked with … maybe the trick is getting the ceremony out of the way a few weeks beforehand!  Whatever, it was a lot of fun.  I hope you guys enjoy your teasers … and be sure to check out the highlights slideshow over here.
