Court in the Square: Kara + Craig

Sep 8, 2008 | Weddings

As many of you know, August was a crazy month for me – I’m pretty sure I ended up photographing nine weddings in total, all in the space of 31 days!  So maybe that will explain why I’m a little behind on my blogging …

My very last wedding of the month was at Court in the Square in Pioneer Square, and it was such a beautiful and fun way to end the month.

I started the day with the girls – after a few minutes of frenzied dressing, we headed out into Pioneer Square for photos.  Kara looked absolutely stunning – as I knew from the moment I met her she would – and all of the girls were so much fun to hang out with.  Once they were safely hidden away back at the venue, I headed out again with the guys.  I love the fun group shot under the arch, and the black and white one of them walking back to the venue.

The ceremony was gorgeous, emotional and touching.  The light was crazy, but fun to work with, and I managed to sneak upstairs to grab a few overview photos from up high while one of Kara’s bridesmaids sang.

After the ceremony, we headed onto the roof for some couples portraits, followed by group photos outside.  Then it was toasts, dinner (yay, BBQ!) and a lot of very entertaining dancing.  One of the highlights of the evening for me was right at the end of the toasts, when Craig invited Kara to join his fraternity.  Craig and his brothers formed a circle around Kara, and sang and moved around her … it was incredibly touching, and I love the emotion in Kara’s face in those shots.

Thank you Craig and Kara for inviting me to be a part of your wonderful day, and I hope you had a fabulous honeymoon!
