Two weekends ago, I traveled down to Newport, RI for Maithy and Brian’s wedding at one of the magnificent mansions there, The Chanler at Cliff Walk. It is one of the most stunning venues I’ve ever photographed at and I was so excited for their wedding! I started the day at La Farge Perry House in Newport, a delightful bed and breakfast. Brian and Maithy had rented out the entire B&B which made for a really special atmosphere. Some pretty details to start off … how beautiful is Maithy’s Vera Wang wedding gown?
The girls worked with the adorable Veronica Shin for their makeup (I love how she makes everyone look like more perfect versions of themselves without going crazy with a ton of makeup) and with the fabulous Michelle at Demiche for their hair.
Maithy’s details were to-die-for … everything from the beautiful invitations to the reception decor. I was in heaven!
Maithy was helped into her dress and jewelry by her fabulous bridesmaids – you can spot mom watching from the doorway in the photo below:
Brian looked so dapper in his custom tailored suit, and I especially loved the shoes and socks combo. 🙂
We held the first look at the back of La Farge Perry House, in the sweet little garden there:
Maithy and Brian had allowed an hour and a half for couples portraits around Newport, which was just perfect for hitting a few spots along Bellevue Ave and Ocean Drive. Brian’s father kindly drove us all around. Here are a few of my favorites:
We met up with the bridal party and families for some pre-ceremony group photos at The Chanler:
The ceremony was held on the upper lawn at The Chanler, inside a tent. The ceremony was really emotional, with a lot of laughter and tears:
The florals by Sayles Livingston Flowers were absolutely divine – I love the floral archway they created for the ceremony, as well as all of the gorgeous personal flowers and centerpieces. So perfect …
The reception was held on the terrace at The Chanler. It is a gorgeous space anyway, with ocean views and blooms surrounding the terrace, but Maithy’s vision for the decor made it incredible. She added the swathes of fabric and chandeliers, as well as some beautiful, unique details:
I’ve never really been a pink kinda girl, but Maithy may have changed that … just look at this gorgeousness!
The short and sweet first dance opened the reception:
Such an incredible location for a wedding – it truly is picture-perfect!
Maithy’s father-daughter dance with her father was so sweet:
Love this candid of the bride and groom with their little flower girls!
And one final photo of that gorgeous view from the terrace to end with. Thank you all for such a lovely afternoon and evening; I hope you’ve enjoyed the teaser photos and I can’t wait to share your slideshow with you in a couple of weeks!
Fabulous photos, beautiful venue and I think I’ve finally been converted to pink too!
Fantastic set of images Kate! Love the feel to them all. That shot of the venue I must say is stunning, the light on it is perfect. All the shots are wonderfully captured and processed! Cheers, Bob.
