Evelyn and John’s wedding reception was held back at Evelyn’s parents’ home, in their backyard. We started out with some cute portraits – I love the yellow parasols that Evelyn found for all her ladies!
Love those gray suits that John and his brothers wore … and the boutonnieres by florist Yvonne Bright:
These guys are adorable! 🙂
The decor was perfection:
Evelyn designed and created almost everything herself. I especially loved the table number centerpieces that were made from used books, and the escort cards that turned into bookmarks (100% handmade).
I was very excited to see a raw bar for cocktail hour, with oysters shucked to order (yum!) – a big shout-out to The Silent Chef whose food and service was fantastic.
Dinner began with toasts … including an incredibly emotional toast by Evelyn’s brother who is currently serving in Afghanistan. It came via a letter, read by Evelyn’s aunt. It was one of my favorite wedding moments of all time.
After dinner there were dances …
… and relaxed mingling in and around the tents …
… and some crazy action on the dance floor, thanks to my new favorite band, Dick ‘n’ Jane. When I next update my recommended vendors page, they’ll be getting a BIG feature – I have never before worked with such an awesome band … just look at this dance floor!
Thank you Evelyn and John, and your families and friends, for such a warm welcome, and a really fun evening. I hope you’ve enjoyed the teasers … the full set will be ready in a week or two. And if you haven’t already done so, please stop by and like my Facebook page. 🙂
Wow….absolutely love all the handmade touches! Gorgeous pics & it looked like a great wedding!
