Saturday marked the beginning of my Boston wedding season – it was both super exciting and – weirdly – completely nerve-wracking. Maybe I always get a little anxious at the start of the season, but yesterday was the first time in years that I remember being such a bag of nerves. Still, I needn’t have worried; Jon and Amy are two of my favorite people, and their wedding was every bit as emotional and beautiful as I’d hoped it might be.
I started the day at the Royal Sonesta Hotel, overlooking the Charles River and their ceremony and reception venue, the Museum of Science. The girls’ room was a rockin’ roller-coaster of emotion which made for great photos.
Amy and Jon’s colors were blue with a pop of yellow; I love all the blue details she had waiting for me to photograph. And those invites and programs? Amy designed and made each one by hand!
The blue ring was a gift from her Maid of Honor the day before; its purpose was to help Amy focus on the most important thing in the mad rush of the final 24 hours: love. There were some gorgeous non-blue details too …
Amy was all made up before I arrived, but needed a couple of touch-ups before getting dressed. I love the shot of her mom holding up the dress – so happy!
I took a couple of final shots of Amy as she made the finishing touches:
I headed downstairs to the lobby where Jon and his guys were patiently waiting for me. I was very taken with the bright yellow boutonnieres, and I loved that the ties matched the lining of the invitation envelopes.
Stay tuned for a TON more photos over the next few days!
So beautiful (if I do say so myself! ;). I am (as always) in awe of your eye and amazed at how lovely you make the world! Yay!!!
😀 Thank you Amy! Have an amazing time in Jamaica!! Hannah is settling in great and she and Port are already best buddies. 🙂
