Katie & Pat’s big wedding was postponed due to Covid-19, but they decided to get married in front of their immediate families this summer and chose the delightful Scituate Maritime Center on Scituate Harbor as their venue; what a perfect place for an intimate wedding, and we lucked out with an absolutely beautiful evening, too!
Katie & her dad right before the ceremony; I love these moments and am always curious to see if they will be emotional or tense or – as in this case – really fun!I always try to keep half an eye on what any kids are up to. This adorable and very well-dressed nephew made for a great photo as he crawled around the aisle during the vows!Although Pat & Katie were limited to 20 guests, they had an amazing surprise waiting for them; Pat’s extended family and childhood friends filled two boats in the harbor, and they watched the ceremony from below! My favorite ceremony moment is almost always the walk back down the aisle as a married couple – their smiles say it all!Visiting with friends and extended family on the docks below the Maritime Center.I really love this photo; I’m not sure if the ladies in kayaks were friends or strangers, but it’s always funny to me seeing everyone making sure to get their shot. 🙂Relaxed family formals at the front of the Maritime Center to take advantage of the shade.First dances should always be outside on a sun-soaked deck, surrounded by your nearest and dearest …Cocktail hour details and momentsA sweet toast by Katie’s dad, then dinner. The best cake cutting moments are the funny ones …A bubble exit as Pat and Katie head out for a sunset boat ride around Scituate Harbor.Pat’s face here! Ha. Also, I’m not quite sure I can believe I finally managed to capture a Champagne bottle being popped (I usually jump with fear and all I get is a blur …)This was the coolest thing. One of the boats in the harbor found the Champagne cork and brought it back to us so that Pat and Katie would have a momento – what a thoughtful and kind guy! One of my very favorite moments of the day.The end of a gorgeous sunset and perfect day. Thank you Katie & Pat, and your families; I loved documenting your wedding!
And thanks to the fabulous vendors, including Beach Plum Floral. Below is Pat & Katie’s wedding slideshow!
One final note: although this wedding took place in the middle of a pandemic, Katie and Pat went to great lengths to ensure that everyone involved was safe. There was much testing and quarantining, and all vendors wore masks throughout. Please let me know if you need help figuring out how to have a safe yet intimate wedding during this strange time; I’m happy to offer suggestions!
