This was my second Mandarin Oriental Boston wedding, and it is such a beautiful venue, perfect for Hillary and Zak’s gorgeous Jewish wedding last weekend. I started my day off with Zak and his guys; they had hired Tweed Barber Shop to come to Zak’s room to provide hot lather shaves for the guys, and of course I had to document this! Zak reported that it was the perfect antidote to the previous night’s celebrations (and it made for great photos too!)

I then headed up to Hillary’s suite where she and her bridesmaids and both moms were getting ready. It was an absolute joy getting to work once again with Kerri Herlihy for makeup and Kevin Hadfield for the first time for hair. I’d heard wonderful things about Kevin from Kerri, and he did not disappoint! He was sweet and hilarious and has been added to my very short list of recommended hair stylists.

Hillary and Zak are such sweet humans, and I just loved watching their emotional first look. Zak was particularly expressive – he teared up reading Hillary’s card, and then had the absolute best reaction I’ve ever seen to his gift (a beautiful watch). After the gift exchange, we took a couple of portraits in the hotel (we had to include the Mandarin Oriental’s iconic staircase of course) and then headed out for wedding party photos on Comm Ave.

The evening started with a Ketubah signing which was possibly my favorite part of the day; I loved their Rabbi, and this time was filled with both laughter and tears. Then the ceremony in the ballroom, cocktail hour outside in the courtyard (which was hung with Moroccan lamps), then back into the ballroom for dinner and dancing – and an epic hora, of course!

This was a large wedding with a lot of moving parts, and at the helm was the incredibly sweet Lo McShay of Lolo Event Design. She made sure everything about this Mandarin Oriental Boston wedding went to plan, and oversaw the event design which included a hand crafted Moroccan design to reflect Zak’s heritage, and the amazing floral art pieces by Poppy Floral. I wanted to share some of my favorite moments and portraits in these sneak peeks, but there are tons of gorgeous details too, and I’ll be sharing those later!

Thank you SO much, Hillary and Zak, for trusting me to document your fantastic Mandarin Orinetal Boston wedding; I hope you enjoy these sneak peeks – and I’ll be sharing lots more in a few weeks!
