I’s so happy to share some photos from my first Wychmere Beach Club wedding today! Amy and Bryan’s fabulous wedding weekend started for me at lunchtime on Friday; these sassy New Yorkers invited their friends to take part in an afternoon of camp games at Cape Cod Sea Camps. It was as wonderfully silly as you can imagine, and I’ll be posting some photos from that part of the wedding weekend at some point later this fall. Right now though, I want to share some of my favorite photos from their Wychmere Beach Club wedding.
Fast forward to Saturday morning at the beautiful Wequassett Resort, where I met up with with Amy, her bridesmaids, and bridesmen. After makeup time with the lovely Andrea of Face Forward Beauty, we all headed over to Bryan and Amy’s ocean view room to get Amy into her dress and jewelry. We were crammed in pretty tightly but everyone was in high spirits and I love these photos! After dressing, Amy and her bridal party jumped on a trolley and headed over to Wychmere Beach Club for the ceremony. It was held outside on the lawn, overlooking the ocean. The sky was bright blue, and the ribbons from the beautiful patchwork huppah that Amy and Bryan’s moms had made were blowing in the afternoon breeze. We had some crazy light to work with, and one of my favorite photos is the black and white photo of Amy, with the shadow of one of the ribbons across her face.
During cocktail hour, my fab second shooter Krista Guenin photographed the guests relaxing with cocktails, while I photographed the HUGE wedding party (I counted 27 not including family!) and the room setup. Florist Meredith Fancy did such a beautiful job with the flowers, and the Wychmere Harbor Room looked so chic. The reception, which was mostly a huge dance party, was one of the best I’ve ever seen, and I’m not sure I’ve ever had quite so much fun photographing the dancing as I did that night … Wilson Stevens band Splash! was absolutely incredible; the dance floor was completely packed all night, and the music sounded amazing. I love that the singers join guests on the dance floor – it really adds to the wow factor. Other highlights for me included the all-night pigs in blankets, Bryan’s sweet toast to his new wife, and getting to meet the huge posse of Brits that had flown over for the weekend.
A special shout-out here to their most amazing wedding planner, the lovely, funny, always-smiling Allison Liset of Elegant Engagements. It was an absolute treat getting to work with you again Allison! And Amy and Bryan … wow! What a spectacular, joyful, and fun weekend. Thank you for trusting me to document your Wychmere Beach Club wedding – and please keep in touch!
