For my final wedding post of the year, I bring you Julie and Jonathan’s amazingly gorgeous peacock and Parisian themed wedding at the always magnificent Turner Hill in Ipswich, MA. They actually got married all the way back in early October, but as I was second shooting for my good friend Leah Haydock for this one, there wasn’t the usual rush to get teasers out to the couple – she already did that here. So these sweet pictures have been sitting on the back burner for a couple of months, and it was so fun finally getting to go through them again for this blog post.
I started my day at Our Lady, Star of the Sea in Marblehead. After grabbing a few shots of the guys, my attention turned to Julie, who arrived in style with her dad in a gorgeous vintage car:
While Leah shot the processional, I got to hang back with Julie, her family, and her bridesmaids – and this is something I’d like to do more of next year, as this is where the real moments are found. I love this next one of Julie’s bridesmaids helping prep her for her walk down the aisle:
Our Lady is the most lovely church; I adored the soft colors.
I had fun getting this shot, using the organist’s mirror up in the choir loft. Do you like it?
After the ceremony, we headed over to Turner Hill, one my all-time favorite wedding reception sites. It’s a golf course that doesn’t feel like a golf course … the mansion is old with wonderful dark wood and a ton of character, and the grounds are beyond gorgeous. I grabbed a few candids during cocktail hour, as well as a few photos of Julie and Jonathan.
I love these next photos of Jonathan and Julie – what cutie pies!
The wedding had a peacock/Parisian theme and wow … just wow. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen anything quite so beautiful! Here’s the wrought iron birdcage escort card holder, with vintage French postcards for the cards themselves. The tables were named after streets in Paris.
The Place de Trocadero was the couple’s sweetheart table. I’m loving the peacock blue toasting glasses …
Julie and Jonathan opened the reception with their first dance. So many sweet moments!
I don’t usually post cake cutting photos, but these two were just so sweet:
After a super cute father-daughter dance, the party really started … and these guys sure like to dance!
Thank you Julie and Jonathan for so graciously welcoming me to your gorgeous and very fun wedding. And to Leah for having me second shoot!
