Kate and Chris’ beautiful wedding at the Taj Boston was such a fun day for me, and I’ve been itching to post their teasers for the last two weeks. From the moment I arrived, to the last photo from the fun party at the end of the night, the day could not have been more perfect – the people were so lovely, the venue was gorgeous, and we had such a relaxed and easy timeline that we were able to take some really great couples photos around town in some of my very favorite spots.
I started this perfect day in Kate’s suite at the Taj, where the girls were getting ready. Kate’s details were so pretty (LOVE those shoes!) and the champagne was flowing while hair and makeup were being done.
I love all the little moments during the getting ready process … and check out the custom embroidered shirts that Kate had given to each of her girls:
Those shoes … ah!
Once Kate was dressed and ready to go, I headed down to see the guys. Chris was making the finishing touches to his outfit, a very splendid tux (you really can’t beat a groom in a tux!)
We held Chris and Kate’s first look in one of the conference rooms at the Taj. Chris, this may be the best reaction I’ve ever seen from a groom – love it!
Kate and Chris’ awesome doggy Murph joined us for a few relaxed family portraits in the Public Garden. I’m pretty much in love with Murph in his black tie.
We then jumped in an Uber car and headed over to the Boston Public Library … love these:
We then jumped back in our Uber car and hopped over to Beacon Hill, which was mostly fun (we got yelled at by a crazy old bat – is that an English phrase? – on Acorn Street, of course!)
We met up with the wedding party and families after that, and headed back to the Public Garden for some group photos. This was a great crowd:
The girls looked gorgeous in their full length gowns, and the flowers were beautiful, thanks to Petals Inc out of Peabody:
Fun striped socks for the guys:
The ceremony was held on the rooftop at the Taj. It’s such a great space, and the short ceremony was in turn sweet and hilarious.
A fun silhouette shot during the ceremony as the sun was beginning to set:
Two of my favorite moments here: Chris gets choked up while Kate’s parents look on:
There are a few recessional photos in the final cut, but I had to share this one, with Kate checking out her new ring:
The decor and all the little details at this wedding were gorgeous:
Cocktail hour was filled with laughter and hugs:
I got to meet the pastry chef at the Taj, the creator of this beautiful cake. He asked me to take a few photos … I especially like this one (and hope he does too, he’s a sweetie!)
There was an animal theme to the reception; in lieu of guest favors, Kate and Chris made a donation to the Northeast Animal Shelter, where the couple adopted their pup Murph, and the tables were named after pets belonging to their families and friends. Too cute!
Chris and Kate opened the reception with a really sweet first dance:
I love how they organized the parent dances; Chris danced with his mom and stepmom, and Kate danced with her father, and Chris’ mom’s parner … and then everyone danced with everyone. It made for some great moments!
A few photos from the party on the dance floor:
And one last fun photo from late in the evening to end with. Thank you Kate, Chris, your amazing families and friends, for a wonderful day. We absolutely loved working with you, and hope that you enjoyed your teasers! The full set will be ready in a week or two – I can’t wait to share more from your fabulous day!
