Old School Engagement Session in Weston, MA: Nell + Steve

Jun 20, 2010 | Engagements

Steve and Nell are a seriously awesome couple – no surprise really, as they were a referral from my super rad hairdresser at Station8 Salon in JP.  Thanks Pam!  I was ridiculously excited about their engagement session, not just because of who they are, but also because they wanted to go back to their old school for the session.  Yeah!  So, mid week this week, we headed out to the Cambridge School of Weston for some fun photos.  They met there twenty years ago, and although they cycled in and out of crushes on each other, the timing never quite worked out and they remained best friends.  Three years ago, they finally started dating.  It must have been somewhat of a relief for their friends and family!

We started our tour in the dance studio.  Nell danced at school, and Steve, it seems, liked to hang out in the studio to watch the pretty dancing girls … Then, we headed outside to the amphitheater.

The woodland surrounding the school is so pretty (and yet so full of evil mosquitoes!)  I love that Nell looks cute even when running high-speed through a forest … and Steve looks … funny.  🙂

One of many new buildings that have sprung up since Steve and Nell’s school days … I loved the lines and the light here.

This red wall at the back of the brand new theater was pretty much made for engagement sessions:

Then back outside, onto the sports field, for some piggyback riding … and a final shot at the back of the dance studio:

One of Nell and Steve’s favorite spots during their school years was the Dairy Joy in Weston.  We decided it would make for a great photo opp (and of course the ice creams are seriously YUM):

And now for my favorite photos of the day … ice cream eating!

Yay for ice cream mustaches!  And yay again for ice cream mini-fights!

Thank you, thank you Steve and Nell for a super fun afternoon.  And for delicious vanilla ice cream.  I hope you like your teasers!
