Shilshole Bay Beach Club Wedding: Sunshine + Zandro

Sep 17, 2009 | Weddings

I’m back!  In Boston!  The last few weeks have been crazy – I’ve been back and forth between Seattle and Boston, and finally I’m settled here in our new home in JP, and my computer is safely back with me too.  Time to start catching up on some serious editing from the last month …  and boy, is there a lot of good stuff to blog.

Sunshine and Zandro have the patience of saints – their wedding was almost three weeks ago – thank you, guys, for bearing with my crazy schedule and lack of computer!  Their wedding was a super fun day full of so many hilarious moments.  I hope the photos convey at least a little bit just how funny this couple, and their fabulous friends, are.  I started off the afternoon upstairs at Shilshole Bay Beach Club for some getting ready photos with the girls.  Sunshine was probably the most relaxed bride I’ve ever worked with, and the little room was filled with laughter as they touched up their makeup and got dressed.  Once the guys arrived, I grabbed a couple of shots of them getting their boutonnieres pinned on, and then we headed out into the blazing sunshine for a sweet first look.

Sunshine wanted lots of bridal party photos in cool, urban locations, so we headed out to Fremont and Gasworks Park.  I must say, I am kind of in love with that huge industrial wall we found in Fremont, and the abandoned neon sign was pretty cool too.  At Gasworks we had fun running up and down the hill (them, not me!) and trying to avoid the sprinklers (we all got a little wet).  After getting a few grungy shots with the old gasworks, we found a sweet spot with the prettiest light for a few formal photos … then it was back to Shilshole for the ceremony.

After the ceremony we took a few group photos, then it was straight into the crazy whirlwind that was the reception.  The decor was gorgeous (how pretty is that hot pink with the gray?) and I loved that they brought in a photobooth for their guests.  Everyone had a ball with that, and of course I had to test it out too (it was awesome).  After dinner, there were some speedy toasts, then it was full on party time … the money dance was hilarious, and these kids sure like to dance …  It was also great getting to work one last time with my favorite vendors from last summer, DJs Sean Denard and Jeff Hill, coordinator extraordinaire Laura Gram and everyone’s favorite officiant, Rev Ray.  Thank you all for a super fun day, and I hope you like the teasers below and of course the slideshow … click here.
