Lake Kachess Engagement Session: Jackie + Tim

Aug 23, 2009 | Engagements

Last week, on a gloriously sunny day, I drove out to Lake Kachess for Tim and Jackie’s engagement session.  Never having been there before, I was totally unprepared for the amazing beauty of the lake and the surrounding forests and waterfalls.  It was breathtaking!  Jackie has been vacationing there since she was a little girl, and it is where Tim proposed to her this May.  It was fun meeting her parents and exploring the area around the cabin that they rent each year.

We started off with a couple of lakeside spots, then headed into the public park.  I love the huge firs there, and the lake itself is just gorgeous.  Jackie and Tim seemed so happy and relaxed in their home-away-from-home and I enjoyed getting to know them better.  Towards the end of the session, we jumped in Jackie’s parents’ ski boat and motored up to the far end of the lake for some final photos by the waterfall.  The light was crazy over there and it was a bit of a challenge getting the shots I wanted (but I think we did pretty well in the end).  On the way back to the cabin, Jackie’s dad jumped on the water skis – I couldn’t resist snapping a few shots of his high-speed action.  🙂  Thank you all for a beautiful afternoon away from the city, and see you next July in Seattle!
