Court in the Square Wedding: Michal + Jason

Aug 15, 2009 | Weddings

Last Saturday – yes, I’m a little behind on my blogging right now – it was Michal and Jason’s wedding at Court in the Square.  I started the day off at the Mayflower Park Hotel where the girls were getting ready.  There was such a happy buzz in there, and Michal was one of the calmest, happiest brides I’ve ever seen!  While the girls were making the finishing touches to their outfits, I got to photograph some details, including Michal’s wedding dress which was handed down from her mom (hello, wow!) and the amazing bouquets that she made by hand from tissue paper.  In fact, pretty much everything was hand made by Michal – the bouquets, boutonnieres and centerpieces; the darling little thank you boxes containing the home baked cupcakes; and all of the stationery and signs.  I can’t imagine how proud she must have felt seeing everything come together so beautifully.

Once the girls were ready, we crammed into a limo and headed first to Parson’s Garden for the first look and a few bridal party shots, then on to the Olympic Sculpture Park and Occidental Square.  I love those locations!  And they added a much-needed pop of color to a very gray and dreary day.  Around 6pm there was a beautiful ceremony at Court in the Square, followed by rooftop photos, a huge spread of food (including a burger bar, yay!), then it was time for dancing and photoboothing.  The night ended perfectly –  Jason had secretly arranged for a horse-drawn carriage to take them for a ride at the end of the reception.  So cute!  Michal and Jason, thank you for including me in your beautiful day, and I hope you like your teasers below, and the highlights slideshow (click here!)

  3. Loved these photos! There were so many excellent ones. The Sculpture Park was a great idea. The best part was the slide show with the Jason Mraz song…one of my favorites.
