Last weekend, I had my one and only double wedding weekend of 2009, and although it was exhausting – how did I get through last summer?! – I had such a blast, photographing two spectacularly different but utterly fabulous weddings.
Saturday was Sonia and Tony’s big day. Remember their engagement session? I do, most fondly – and after spending a couple of hours hanging out with this crazy couple, I knew that their wedding would be a TON of fun. It did not disappoint! These guys are mad Seahawks fans, and they managed to bring in so much of their love for the game and their team whilst still having a beautifully elegant wedding. I was very excited to learn that their lovely officiant Lorin is the one and only Big Lo, “Seattle’s biggest sports fan” (check out his action figure at Archie McPhee’s!!)
Their venue was so pretty, and Sonia’s bright pink theme looked beautiful against the white tent and bright blue sky that we had all day. There’s too much good stuff to give a rundown of the whole day, but a few of my favorite things included Sonia’s heartfelt letter to Tony which she gave him just before the ceremony … their awesome doggies that were included in the wedding … little Seahawks touches sprinkled throughout (love the ice sculpture groom’s gift!) … couples portraits just before sunset … craziness on the dancefloor (I have never laughed so hard in my life) … Fiona’s awesome job with the photobooth (loving those pics) … and watching Tony watch his bride come down the aisle. Kate, I will nevr begin to explain how happy I am that we found YOU to do our photos. You are amazing, and were so wonderful to have at our side during our very special day. The photos are absolutely incredible. We are on our honeymoon and I cdried looking at some of them. They are even better than I imagined. We LOVE YOU. Cant wait to see our photobooth pic together. THANK YOU for EVERYTHING. Your hugs during the day to help calm me down were the bestest 😉

Kate, I just watched the slideshow, and it’s simply phenomenal! You captured every single essence of the wedding, from the intoxicatingly sweet, to the raucous and rowdy. Through that slideshow I vividly relived every moment of the wedding. I’m so glad Sonia and Tony found you to photograph the wedding, and none of us can thank you enough!

Kate what an awesome display of a beautiful couple on their special day, two years in the making! This was spectacular to watch and even made me cry! I certainly hope they hire you to capture the essence of my future grandbabies, ha ha. Yes, that was plural…..:)
