I love new stuff – and especially new stuff where I’m given complete creative free reign! I was therefore super excited when I was contacted to do some promo shots for Jordan Thompson, singer, guitarist and pianist for Striking Back. Jordan’s been playing in bands for over ten years, but has decided to go back to his roots and break out on his own. His sound is rich and raw, and he’s moving away from heavier rock to something more soulful and emotional.
I wanted to create images that would give Jordan a different edge, and yet reflect both where he’s coming from and where he’s going. We had a ton of fun playing around in Greenlake and on First Hill, and apart from a very sad story about a bashed-up $4k guitar (!) it was a hugely successful day. Special thanks to Christine, Jordan’s super-star wife, stylist and all-around fun lady for her help. Go check out Jordan’s music via his website (coming very soon now that he has some photos!) or on the Striking Back MySpace page.

Kate, you rock.
Adrienne, I like the play on words 😀 And … thank you! BTW I am itching to take pics of Tate!
Wow, I like! Not a bad subject to have to shoot, either 🙂
Kate! You are a goddess! I haven’t gotten to talk to Jordan yet but I’m ridiculously impressed. I love the shmancy lens you rented too. The various coloring and effects will really give us a ton to work with. We will probably even use some of the photos to drive promotional material. Let’s so go ahead and name you the official photographer of Striking Back and get ourselves on your rotation as these pics kick ass. Grazie mille…
And I agree…not a bad subject to shoot either. 🙂
I have to agree with Adrienne….you do totally ROCK(:
Wow Kate!!! You never cease to amaze me. I especially love the ones of Jordan in the doorway. And the one where is face is blurred out, with the guitar as a focal point…GENIOUS, or BRILLIANT!! Love them!!!
I love that guitar shot too! what lens did you rent?
