Kathy Jo & Matt’s Winter Wedding in Everett

Jan 4, 2008 | Weddings

The end of 2007 was a busy time for me. After last Friday’s family portrait session I had two weddings within the space of just three days! First was Matt and Kathy Jo’s beautiful Christmasy wedding at the Monte Cristo Hotel in downtown Everett on Saturday December 29th. I started mid-afternoon with Kathy Jo, her sister and matron of honor Rebecca, and Rebecca’s two gorgeous kids, flower girl Jolee and ring-bearer Rian, photographing them getting ready in the upstairs office. It quickly became the place to hang out, and by 4pm we had a mini party going on! It made for some great photos.

Kathy Jo and Matt decided to have a ‘first look’ moment so that we could do family photos before the ceremony. It worked out really well – there’s a gorgeous fireplace in the main hall of the hotel, and it was the perfect backdrop for the semi-formal family photos. The ceremony was also held here – an intimate and emotional ceremony with around 40 of their closest family and friends watching. Everyone else (another 60 or so guests) arrived during cocktail hour and this is when the party really began – Kathy Jo and Matt’s friends truly know how to party!

It was such a fun wedding – and setting up the photobooth midway through the evening was the icing on the cake! Many thanks to my awesome assistant Rachel Barsness who captured some of my favorite images below – and she is partly to blame for there being a ton more teaser photos than usual … enjoy!

  2. Kate and Rachel were fabulous to work with! Kate helped make my wedding day perfect! Matt and I aren’t “picture people” and were a little nervous about being photographed. Just a couple minutes into things we forgot Kate and Rachel were even there with their cameras. I know Kate was there at the ceremony taking photos – but I never noticed her once. She made us both so comfortable. I love these photos and can’t wait to see the rest!!!! Thank you Kate!

  4. I’ve never seen an array quite like this. Viewing them has to be the closest thing to being there. They seem to capture all of the love and effort that went into the preparations. Kathy Jo…you look stunning. Best to you both.
