St Ignatius Chapel and Robinswood House Wedding: Kathleen + Andy

Jul 24, 2009 | Weddings

OK, so you’ll have to excuse me for being a cheeseball for a moment … but sometimes the stars align and everything is perfect and you realize that you have the absolute most awesome job on the planet.  Last Saturday this happened for me, photographing Andy and Kathleen’s amazing wedding.  I’m not sure what made it so perfect – maybe the beautiful scorcher of a day, the seamless coordination by my good friend Stacey Jehlik, the hotties in the bridal party, the perfect chapel at Seattle U, the picture perfect venue that is Robinswood House … or maybe it was just that Kathleen and Andy make the most fabulous couple.  Whatever it was, all I could think afterward was, “wow.  I am one lucky girl”.

There is too much good stuff to even begin trying to describe the day here – you’ll have to watch the slideshow for that – but a few of my favorite things were their amazing priest whose sermon included a can of chicken soup and a Sounders scarf; getting to play with a fun lens with the bridal party; riding with Kathleen and Andy in her uncle’s beautiful vintage car (with no seat belts!  On two highways!); crazy mad light in the park next to Robinswood House; a perfect circle of beautiful people for the first dance and toasts; the cutting cake that Kathleen made herself; rollickin’ music from The Tallboys; tears and laughter all day long …  I feel so blessed to have been a part of this incredible day.  Enjoy the teasers and slideshow.  🙂

  7. Kate, we knew that you were a very talented photographer…that’s why we hired you to capture our wedding. But, we had NO IDEA that you were the perfect person to translate the magical feeling of our wedding onto film. We both cried looking at our photos and we are forever grateful to you. We will be able to share these moments and relive them because of you. You captured the essence of our friends and family and the most important day of our life. There is no way we can put into words how thankful we are. So many special people help support a couple during their wedding and you, my dear, are certainly one of them. You were a joy to work with. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Love always, Kathleen and Andy MCCABE!

  8. These are stunning. Truly, I’m impressed. The T/S of the groomsmen is pretty darn cool. The shot of her laying on his lap is fantastic. Well done! Love them all!
