Way back in August, Jen and David introduced me to one of their favorite places in the Boston area, The World’s End in Hingham, MA.  It’s a spectacular park and conservation area, bordered by the Weir River, and Hingham Harbor, and there’s some beautiful wildlife there too, including deer and geese.  I especially loved the deer who were remarkably friendly, and David teased Jen that they reminded him of her, with her long legs and graceful and sweet movements.  At least, I think that’s why.  🙂

Jen and David chose The World’s End not just for its outstanding natural beauty, but also because it was the spot where they had their first date.  We retraced their steps through the park, stopping off anywhere with great light, and finally made our way down to the beach that faces downtown Boston.  It was actually somewhat of a mission getting down to the beach … the cliff is steep there, and very slippery, with lots of rubble.  When David pointed out the beach I said we had to use it, so I let them scramble down the cliff face first, using the rope that was tied there.  Until … the rope snapped.  Yikes!  David told me not to worry about it, that they would come back up and we’d find another spot, but I was now a woman on a mission: I had to get to the beach.  So I pretty much slid down on my butt, dragging my camera bag behind me, getting thoroughly coated in dust and dirt.  And it was totally worth it – we had a gorgeous beach, and amazing views, all to ourselves.  I often apologize when I show up at engagement sessions wearing jeans, sneakers and a t-shirt – this is why.  I don’t want nice clothing holding me back from getting the shots I want!

We finished our session up high on the hill, catching a lovely sunset.  And then we scrambled back to the park entrance where we were relieved to find the gate still open (it closes at sunset – about 20 minutes before we made it back).  Thank you Jen and David for a super fun adventure, and for introducing me to what is now my favorite spot in the Boston area.  May your wedding in April also be filled with adventures, but maybe not so much dirt!
