Endicott Estate Wedding Photos in Dedham: Josh & Jack

Oct 11, 2024 | Weddings

What a gorgeous, perfect early fall day we had last weekend to photograph my first Endicott Estate wedding. And with the sweetest grooms, too!

Josh and Jack got ready together upstairs in one of the lovely rooms at the Endicott Estate. We chose our favorite room based on light and features (the wallpaper! The beautiful fireplace!) then let everything unfold. I absolutely love it when couples get ready together, and wish more of my straight couples would consider this (hint, hint). It just makes for the sweetest moments, and it really reduces the wedding day nerves, so it’s a win-win for all of us.

Once the grooms were dressed, we headed out onto the lovely back deck for photos with family and friends. The color palette was so perfect for this setting – I especially loved the grooms’ custom navy suits by Indochino and the rich forest green of the ladies’ dresses. Also I have to mention the awesome flowers worn by the grooms as an alternative to traditional boutonnières, courtesy of their florist Poppy Floral. I believe these are called either “floral pocket squares” or “pocket square boutonnières” – either way they are super cool and allow for more creativity than the standard. I’m a big fan!

The ceremony was held on the lawn near the pergola and was sweet but oh so short – just five minutes in total! But there were lots of teary eyes and a sweet ceremony where each groom poured a different colored glass to form a mix which will then be blown into a glass vase.

Then, it was time for reception details and cocktails on the deck, plus a few big family groupings. At the end of cocktail hour, the grooms and I headed to the front of the mansion for some final couples portraits before dinner. The light is always beautiful later in the evening, and the feel of the photos is always more relaxed after the ceremony.

During dinner there were two lovely toasts by the maids of honor, then an absolutely delicious buffet dinner by Tastings Caterers. I was delighted to sample much of the menu including the squash ravioli, cauliflower gratin and the potatoes (usually we get a vendor meal – often chicken and asparagus – so getting to eat from the buffet is such a treat!)

Then it was time for cake cutting, first dance in the music room, surrounded by family and friends, then some fun dancing. Thank you Josh and Jack, and your wonderful families and friends, for a beautiful day; I hope you enjoy these favorites!
