2020 Wedding Clients – COVID-19 Update

Dear 2020 couples,

I wanted to let you know that I have been thinking of you all and I’m really feeling for you. This is an unprecedented situation we’re dealing with, and I understand that you must be feeling frustrated, anxious, devastated … after so much work and time and money spent on planning the most important celebration of your lives … well, it’s a gut punch.

I want you to know that I’m paying very close attention to the situation as it evolves, and taking good care of myself to keep healthy, so that I’m ready for you and whatever you need.

At this point, I want to be clear that I’m ready and able to photograph your weddings on the date they were originally scheduled. I understand that it may not be possible in the way originally imagined due to circumstances out of our control, so I have decided to offer all my affected clients a few options should their wedding require rescheduling. In all cases, please stay in contact with me (and your other vendors) regarding potential dates so that we can ensure that any new date works for everyone.

I currently have many dates still available this year (a major benefit of being a small boutique business).

Option 1.

Should you decide to reschedule your wedding, you may move your wedding date to any date I have available in 2020, or in January through April 2021. I will waive all fees, including the admin fee of $1000 under the Postponement clause in your contract, as well as waive the four month limit for postponements.

In short, there will be no additional fees due, and your payment schedule will remain as per your current Agreement.

Option 2.

Should you decide to reschedule your wedding for a weekend date (Friday through Sunday) during prime wedding season in 2021 (May through November), please contact me to discuss availability and options. Because there are limited dates, and I am also currently booking new clients for next year, it’s really important that we chat as soon as possible. In general, Friday and Sunday weddings will be easily accommodated throughout the summer and fall. Saturday weddings, and weddings where I will be traveling, will be harder to accommodate so please reach out early.

Your payment schedule will remain as per your current Agreement.

Option 3.

We can convert your original wedding date to an elopement style wedding to include 3-4 hours of coverage including getting ready, ceremony, and portraits.

On another 2020/early 2021 date (as outlined in Option 1 above) I will photograph the party portion of your wedding – family portraits, cocktail hour, dinner, toasts, dances, and an hour of dancing/party coverage.

In short, there will be no additional fees due (apart from to cover travel time and costs if the elopement takes place outside of Boston), and your payment schedule will remain as per your current Agreement.

I urge you to be flexible and consider less popular dates and non-weekends if you want the greatest chance to keep your original vendor line-up together. I assure you all of us want to work with you, to keep your business, and will do anything within our abilities to make it work. For those of us for whom this is our entire livelihood, we are collectively staring at an incredible financial hit – so please help us, help you.

Of course if you have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to ask. I’ll be here, hunkered down with my husband and dogs, hoping we have enough TP to get through this, and putting out all the positive vibes I can.

Take care (and keep in touch!)
Kate
