KK & Robin had a joint engagement and family session recently in the Arnold Arboretum in Jamaica Plain, just around the corner from where I live, and by far one of my all-time favorite spots to photograph. KK owns the Ten Tables restaurants in JP and Cambridge, and we had the good fortune to meet her through our friends Kelly and Chris, soon after we moved to Boston. I remember telling my husband Josh at the time: “if KK ever gets married, I really hope I get to photograph it!” And that I will, at the incredible Crane Estate, this fall.
I met Robin and their amazing girls for the first time at our session, and quickly fell for them all. The girls LOVED being in front of the camera, and had a ton of fun getting their hair and makeup done with their mom, then playing wild chase games with KK. They are so confident and bubbly; such a joy to photograph! Robin is smart and so sweet, and gorgeous of course. They make a pretty beautiful couple – and family – as I hope these photos show.
I usually suggest hitting up a couple of different spots for photos, but it actually worked out perfectly staying at the Arboretum for the full session. The girls were with us for the first 40 minutes, then Robin’s parents took them home so we could spend a little time making more intimate portraits of the two of them. The Arboretum has so many beautiful backgrounds, and I loved the variety we got from a limited space.
Huge thanks to KK and Robin for trusting me to document this exciting time for them as a family – I am beyond excited for your wedding in October!
