My first time taking wedding photos at the Fairmont Battery Wharf in Boston was this August, and what a beautiful day it was.  Christina and Brian live in Atlanta, but were thrilled to return to her hometown for their wedding.  The entire event took place at the Fairmont Battery Wharf, and I started with the girls in their suite overlooking Boston Harbor.  Christina and her bridesmaids have known each other since middle school and high school, and Christina was the first in the group to get married.  It was a pretty exciting day for all of them!  I loved their matching floral robes, and the wonderful atmosphere in the getting ready suite.

Although Brian and Christina chose not to see each other before the ceremony, they took my advice and did many of the formal photos beforehand so that we could focus on their couples portraits during cocktail hour.  I photographed Christina, her bridesmaids and family, and my fantastic second shooter Earl Christie photographed Brian, his guys and family.

My favorite thing about weddings at the Fairmont Battery Wharf is the spectacular outdoor setting overlooking the water. Outdoor ceremonies are always my favorites, and there were so many special, emotional moments at this ceremony, plus beautiful music from the Riverview Chamber Players.  At the end of the ceremony Christina and Brian walked back down the aisle through bubbles blown by their guests – so cute!

After some quick family and full wedding party group photos, we headed off site for some couples portraits, then made it back in time for Christina and Brian to enjoy the end of cocktail hour.  I loved that the welcome toast took place outdoors, taking advantage of the beautiful, warm evening.  The rest of the night was spent downstairs in the ballroom and Skylight room at the Fairmont.  My intern Mads got the great photo of the first dance through the roof of the Skylight room using my Olympus OM-D E-M1 mirrorless camera.
