Newburyport is one of my favorite places for engagement sessions, so it was a real treat meeting up with Cate and Sean there for their session last week. This wonderful couple is getting married next year at Turner Hill, another of my all-time favorite venues. It’s a country club on the north shore that looks and feels more like a grand old mansion, with its terraces, gorgeous landscaping, and beautiful buildings. Anyway, before I jump too far ahead of myself, here are some of my favorite photos from our engagement session.

We started with a speedy little roam around town, stopping by the cafe when Sean almost proposed (in fact they ended up getting engaged in their living room, which couldn’t be more perfect). This next photo is from just down the street:

We got some very cute photos on the waterfront in Newburyport, but Sean and Cate had already told me about Plum Island by this point so I was itching to head over there for the rest of the session. And I’m glad we went when we did; it is gorgeous! By the way *no dunes were harmed in the making of this next photo*:

It was a little overcast that afternoon, which actually helped us out a lot in terms of light (beaches and bright sunshine aren’t the best mix when it comes to photos!)

These two were so relaxed in front of the camera, and made my job so easy.
