Christina and Andrew’s Castle Hill Inn wedding was one of the most beautiful I’ve seen, and I’d been looking forward to their big day all year. Castle Hill Inn is one of my favorite venues in Newport, RI, with its majestic views over Narragansett Bay and its spectacular positioning on Ocean Ave. Christina and Andrew are fellow Jamaica Plain residents and I always have a special soft spot for my neighbors. Plus, they’re adorably cute, and two of the nicest people you’ll ever meet.
I started my day with the girls at the Pelham Court Inn and there was a wonderful buzz in the bridal suite. Here’s Catrina, Christina’s maid of honor, writing her toast:
Christina’s hair and makeup team, including stylist Drew Carroll of Curlew Green in JP, working their magic on her:
Once hair and makeup were complete, the girls headed up to Castle Hill Inn to finish preparations in the charming bridal suite there. I love this photo of Christina’s mom helping her into her gorgeous Badgley Mischka dress:
The girls were so cute, watching Christina making the finishing touches to her outfit (and I adore their dresses).
Their first look on the drive at Castle Hill Inn is one of my favorites ever. These guys are too cute!
Andrew couldn’t take his eyes off his gorgeous bride!
I loved the soft, romantic color palette – and the flowers were perfection:

I love the in-between moments the most, when people are just enjoying the day:
One of my favorites of the girls, walking back from portraits in the woods with the video team:
I had a good friend and fantastic photographer shooting with me, Earl Christie. This next shot of Christina and her father, waiting to walk down the aisle, is his:
The ceremony was really sweet and filled with emotion.
And although we had the rain tent to work around, the decor still looked spectacular!
After the ceremony, we took some quick family portraits, then Andrew and Christina invited their grandparents to sign their marriage license. I loved seeing Christina holding tightly onto her grandfather’s hand during the signing:
The reception tent was crazy beautiful:
Love this angle on the place settings by Earl:
A super sweet moment from the first dance by Earl:
And here’s Catrina giving the toast that she had so carefully written earlier in the day. Her expressions were wonderful!
The best man had us all laughing:
This is the view you have at sunset if you have a Castle Hill Inn wedding … wow!
Patti of Patticakes RI created an amazing spread of mini desserts and cakes – so pretty (and delicious!)
One of my favorites from the wonderful father daughter dance:
These guys had a crazy good dance party. Two of my absolute favorites are of Christina’s grandfather owning the dance floor (in his sunglasses, of course!) and Andrew getting picked up by his best buddies:
And no wedding is complete without a crazy lightning storm across the bay – I was pretty happy to get a few shots of the lightning lighting up the moody night sky! Thank you all for an amazing day. I hope you’ve enjoyed these teaser photos, and I can’t wait to share the full set with you in a couple of weeks!
Love that penultimate black and white dancing shot, Kate. Great work!
