The ISPWP is a great organization that vets professional wedding photographers, and they hold quarterly wedding photography competitions that reward the world’s top photographers. The talent in this group is amazing, and the competition for the contests is intense. I am therefore completely blown away to have placed three images in this latest contest – my biggest win so far! Not only that but I placed in the First Dance category, a first for me (it’s one of the toughest categories to place in).
This first image is from Katie and Jon’s beautiful wedding at the Omni Mount Washington Resort in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. This is one of many images I made this year that wouldn’t have happened were it not for my educational experience at the Foundation Workshop – I learned how to square up on the background, frame my image, and then wait for the moment to happen. It is so cool when you see everything come together – and even cooler to have it rewarded with a competition win!
This next image is totally fun, and comes from Julia and Anel’s colorful Glen Manor wedding in Rhode Island. I had the guys positioned for a more conventional detail photo of their colorful socks, then asked Anel to have some fun with it and show me his personality. I had no idea he’d bring out his MJ skills!
This final image is one of my all-time favorites, and it is now a multiple award winner (it also won a Fearless award earlier this year). Although it won in the Wedding Details category, it’s a very real moment, right after Kim read a letter from Edric before their first look. You can see their wedding post here.
Huge congrats to my friends from Foundation who also placed images this year … be sure to check out the full collection of winners here. And you can find my previous wins here.
