I met Tommy and Kyle through a wedding that I second shot for a friend a couple of years ago. Tommy was a member of the BU Dear Abbeys, who performed at the end of Becky and Duke’s wedding ceremony, and he apparently liked the few photos he saw of the group performing so much that when he and Kyle began planning their wedding, they contacted me immediately. It turns out that Kyle and I had another connection; he works at Merck along with my hubby Josh – and although they didn’t know each other at the time, they now frequently run into each other in the hallways. We also now have a mutual friend, Gretchen, who I get to see on off-season Fridays for after work drinks. 🙂
I was so excited when they emailed to say they wanted to book me to photograph their wedding at the magnificent State Room next fall. It’s going to be a crazy party, with some amazing music (Kyle and Tommy are both singers, and in fact Kyle first laid eyes on Tommy performing the same role in a musical that he had previously played). Plus, these guys are crazy cute! If these pictures don’t demonstrate that, then this video of their proposal definitely does. Be sure to grab a box of Kleenex before it starts …
We started our photo session on a frosty Sunday morning a couple of weeks ago, in the Public Garden. These guys were so relaxed it actually made me nervous, ha!
My favorite photos from the morning came from our wander around the back streets of the Beacon Hill neighborhood. Love these …
Gretchen, this next one’s for you – I know how you and Kyle miss your “ring time” at work ..!
Tommy needed a headshot so we had fun with this – and I just adore how these two cuddle up and belly laugh together.
One final teaser from our midday stroll along the esplanade (we had some crazy light to work with then, but I kinda dig this next one). Thank you guys for a really great morning; if you couldn’t already tell, I am BEYOND excited for your wedding next October!! I hope you’ve enjoyed these little engagement teasers.
Adorable! And yep, I totally love the ring-time pic! 🙂
