When you wake up on your wedding day and the forecast calls for 100% chance of rain, all day, you have every reason to be bummed out, grumpy, even a little crazy. However, if you’re Kim and Edric, you know that today is still going to be the most awesome day of your lives together thus far, and you’re going to rock out those rain boots, get your dance on, and focus on all the good stuff instead. And as well as rain, there was a bucketload of good stuff at this wonderful, emotional, spunky wedding. I adore these guys.
I started my day at Hotel Marlowe in Kim’s suite with the girls. Kim and Edric had a dream team of vendors at their wedding, and it was awesome walking in to find the lovely Lena of Hair That Moves and Kathy MacDonald of Beleza Salon & Spa working their magic on Kim and the girls. Also hanging out was videographer extraordinaire McKenzie of McKenzie Miller Films – you can see her fantastic highlights film here!
Lena spotted two of Kim’s bridesmaids, Meri and Lauren, doing some DIY makeup in the bath, too. Love it!
Kim’s gorgeous accessories were from Happily Ever BorroWED, an online store that rents out designer accessories – what a cool idea!
The guys were getting ready on another floor, and I had fun hanging out with them for a while, laughing as they looked up instructions for folding a pocket square, and then trying to actually do it. 🙂 Here are a couple of my favorite shots of them actually dressing:
Kim and Edric had written cards for each other, and I was there to capture them reading them. It was an emotional time for both of them, and I LOVE this photo of Kim right after reading her message from Edric. That tear!
Shortly after came a sweet and emotional first look, then we headed straight to the church:
The Catholic ceremony was held at beautiful St Mary of the Assumption in Brookline. Having a full mass means plenty of time for me to find photos of kids misbehaving. 🙂
The Filipino traditions included a veil, cord and coin ceremony.
After some family formals at the church, we headed over to the ICA for some fun bridal party photos. We weren’t going to let the rain stop us from getting great shots, and the ICA is perfect because there’s so much cover there:
I’m loving the cobalt blue and bright yellow – so good for a gray day!
We decided to head over to the Boston Public Library for some romantic couples portraits inside … but we hadn’t realized that it closes at 5pm. Eek! Not to worry – we ran across Copley Square with our umbrellas and rain boots (I had some too) and took some photos under the arches of the church there instead. I love the mood here …
The reception was back at Hotel Marlowe, and Edric and Kim had a fun travel theme (they travel together a ton, and to really neat places across the globe). Their guest book was a suitcase, which held vintage postcards with well wishes from guests. Too cute!
These guys also LOVE to dance – and sing – so it was no huge surprise that their first dance was a little livelier than most. 🙂
After toasts and dinner, there were some sweet parent dances, including Kim with her mom:
And then the crazy really started – thanks in no small part to superstar DJ Nate Oinonen of White Label DJs – yay!
Thank you Kim and Edric for your incredible energy, for bringing so much emotion and romance, and yet also killing it on the dance floor. It was a huge honor to be a part of your day and I hope you’ve enjoyed the teasers!
Great photos esp. the one w/ the tear and the boots .I also love the group pictures. It all looked like pictures from a magazine .
