Evelyn and John’s wedding was my first backyard wedding since moving to the east coast, and I was beyond excited to see how it would all come together. I had no idea until I showed up at her parents’ home, but lawyer-by-trade Evelyn is also a hugely talented crafter and her details were to die for. I love the colors she chose – gray and yellow – and it seems only fitting to start this post with one of her sweetest DIY projects: the program for their ceremony:
I spent the getting ready portion of the day moving around the huge and lovely house, photographing the girls getting ready and of course Evelyn’s beautiful details.
I loved that I got to peek in to Evelyn’s bedroom. Her mom suggested I take a couple of photos, and I’m so glad I did. Who wouldn’t want a photographic record of their childhood bedroom as it was on their wedding day?
The eight (!) bridesmaids each chose their own gray dress. They looked great hanging together:
The letterpress invites and reply cards by Bella Figura were to die for:
I love Evelyn’s expression as she gets into her dress:
The Catholic ceremony took place at St Mary’s Church in Hanover. I am pretty sure this is the best lit, prettiest, and easiest to photograph church I’ve had in years!
Huge thanks to my fab assistant Ashley for the black and white shot of John above – I love it! (That’s his mom taking the photo.) And don’t the guys look great in their gray suits with yellow ties?
Such a great church to work in …
Evelyn suddenly looked a bit nervous when it came time for the vows:
The gorgeous and incredibly fun reception will be along in a couple of days, so stay tuned! And if you like what you’ve seen here, please come over and like my Facebook page. 🙂
Love the yellow/gray combo! Stunning pics & very jealous of her mad crafty skills! Maybe she’ll give me lessons! 😉
Thanks Tracy 🙂 I too am mad jealous of that craftiness.
Absolutely beautiful pictures. They certainly capture the festive mood of the day. You both look so beautiful and happy!
