I’d been looking forward to Kendall and Jeff’s Cape Cod wedding at the gorgeous Wianno Club since the moment I met them. Kendall is a super talented designer, and she had big plans for a beautifully crafted rustic-vintage themed wedding at the most adorable beach-side members’ club on the Cape. Of course, it seems that whenever I am particularly excited for a wedding, the weather decides not to cooperate, and it was with a heavy heart that I arrived in Osterville that morning. What I never seem to remember until after the fact though is that a little weather on the wedding day can actually bring something quite special … an atmosphere that is somehow more intimate … and dark skies lend a moody edge to the portraits. I’m not sure if I will myself to work harder when the weather is tougher, or if I naturally take better photos against a gloomy, angry sky, but the portraits from this wedding are some of my very favorite from the past year … and if this blog post is a little heavy on the posed stuff, then I apologize.

The atmosphere in the bridal suite was bright and breezy when I arrived. Kendall, her girls and her mom were in a great mood, and the fabulous ladies of I Do were working their magic – Eva creating beautifully romantic hairstyles, and Lisa providing flawless makeup.

Kendall and Jeff chose not to see each other before the wedding, but I love this “first look” between Kendall and her dad:

The girls looked amazing in their coordinating dresses – and I LOVED the bouquets by talented florist Lilacs Florals.

The guys wore head-to-toe seersucker suits, with the most perfectly preppy salmon pink sailboat ties from Vineyard Vines … amazing!

The ceremony was held on a beautiful lawn at the Wianno Club, overlooking the ocean. The wind had come up by now, but it didn’t detract from the beauty of this place.

There was so much emotion throughout the ceremony …

Jeff’s family has a wonderful tradition of taking the newlyweds for a spin in a vintage car immediately following the ceremony. I was delighted to be invited along for the ride, and I LOVED the place where we stopped for some pictures; in the background is the island where Jeff proposed to Kendall. 🙂 Thank you Uncle Bob for the ride!

Back at the Wianno Club, we took a few portraits on the beach. I loved that everyone kicked off their shoes and socks and splashed around in the waves.

The reception was held in a large tent next to the main building. The decor was out of this world beautiful, thanks to both florist Lilacs Florals, and to top wedding coordinator Allison Liset of Cape Cod Weddings. Allison was a joy to work with, and she handled the extreme weather we experienced later that evening with such calm professionalism; I was very impressed!
