Boston State Room Wedding: Jasmine + Brandon

Nov 11, 2013 | Weddings

A couple of months back, I photographed another magnificent Boston State Room wedding, this time Jasmine and Brandon’s. I felt super lucky to have top Chicago wedding photographer Steve Koo with me as my second shooter, and around ten of the photos above are Steve’s, including the photos of Brandon and his guys getting ready. I also loved working with Boston wedding videographers Long Haul Films for the first time. Tom and Melissa are such awesome people to have around on the wedding day, and their wedding films kick some serious ass!

We started our day at the fabulous Ames Hotel, by far my favorite hotel in the area. It has such a cool, modern, sleek look, and the huge glass windows mean beautiful light even when it’s a little dreary outside. While Steve hung out with the guys, the girls kept me entertained in Jasmine’s huge suite. Jasmine herself was on a wonderful roller-coaster of emotions throughout the getting ready process, and one of my favorite moments was when she got teary-eyed reading Brandon’s letter.

We were trying to figure out where to hold the first look when I spotted the roof of a parking garage, just down the street from the Ames Hotel. I thought it might be a fun way to work a city feel into the photos, without being surrounded by tourists, and it ended up being a great spot. After a few couples portraits, we gathered up the wedding party and headed over to the Seaport district for some photos at the ICA. Jasmine sure knows how to work it – I love that black and white shot of her and her girls.

Late afternoon, we jumped back on the trolley and headed over to 60 State Street for Brandon and Jasmine’s magnificent Boston State Room wedding ceremony. These two wrote their own vows, and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house as they recited them. I was particularly impressed that Brandon had memorized his – multiple pages, too! The evening was spent hugging, eating, laughing, and dancing. There was a lot of really great dancing, and a ton of happy, smiling faces at this super fun Boston State Room wedding! Thanks to White Label DJs for keeping the dance floor packed all night long! And thank you Jasmine and Brandon for an awesome day, and for your incredible patience with this teaser post!
