MORAINE FARM WEDDING PHOTOS

These Moraine Farm wedding photos perfectly capture, for me, what it is that is so special about this hidden gem of a venue up on the North Shore.  Despite being close to Boston, Moraine Farm is a rustic, rural sanctuary, a perfect venue for couples looking for a more outdoorsy feel to their wedding, but with all the convenience of being right next to the big city.  It really suits a crafty, DIY, or vintage wedding.  The natural beauty of the estate is a perfect backdrop for showcasing your handiwork.  I loved the library theme and crafty DIY touches that Liz had at her Moraine Farm wedding in the photos above.

Moraine Farm was originally built as a summer home in 1880.  The huge estate, designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, includes active farming land, a “gentleman’s garden”, and it overlooks beautiful Wenham lake.  It really does have everything: it’s high enough to enjoy great views, it’s surrounded by greenery, and in the spring through fall it’s bursting with flowers and shrubs.  It also has that lovely country air, and no city sounds.  Just pure nature!

The inside of the estate is too small to hold a large indoor wedding, however there’s a dedicated bridal suite with beautiful decor and lovely window light.  Great light makes all the difference when it comes to photos!  Also inside is a sweet entrance hall through which guests can arrive, and where you can set up escort cards, a guest book, and so on.  The inside spaces are also great for portraits in case of inclement weather.  You can see a couple of indoor Moraine Farm wedding photos in the slideshow above – including the photo of Liz getting ready.

For the reception, a huge white tent on the main lawn provides just the right amount of protection against the elements while keeping the outdoorsy feel.  The tent looks so pretty lit up at night, especially if you add twinkly lights and lanterns!  Cocktail hour is best held in the walled garden overlooking the lake.

If you enjoyed these Moraine Farm wedding photos, you can find the estate at 733 Cabot Street, Beverly, MA 01915, and you can view more of Liz and Russ’ Moraine Farm wedding photos here.  It is one of my absolute favorite North Shore wedding venues.
