Fairmont Battery Wharf Wedding Slideshow: Christina + Brian

Aug 22, 2014 | Slideshows

This was my first time photographing a wedding at the beautiful Fairmont Battery Wharf in Boston, and I couldn’t have asked for a sweeter couple to work with.  I started my day with Christina and her bridesmaids in their lovely suite at the Fairmont.  The sea views were to die for, and the girls were in such high spirits.  The bride and bridesmaids have all known each other since middle and high school, so they share a pretty special friendship.  My second shooter Earl Christie photographed Brian and the guys getting ready in one of the conference rooms at the Fairmont Battery Wharf; I love how he used reflections to add some visual interest to an otherwise tricky room to photograph.

The ceremony was held outside overlooking Boston Harbor, and the light was perfect; the light cloud cover made everything soft and pretty – a perfect backdrop for a very emotional ceremony.  I spotted at least four people shedding a few tears, including the groom (yay!)

The Fairmont Battery Wharf is right in the North End of Boston, which is usually great for wedding portraits, however it was crazy busy that day with a festival so we headed over to Paul Revere Park for Christina and Brian’s couples portraits.  It’s a great spot if you’re looking for pretty backgrounds and a lot of privacy – even on a summer Saturday!

At the end of cocktail hour, the father of the bride gave a wonderful welcome toast, then invited guests downstairs to the Skylight room for the first dance.  What an incredible space!  I had my intern Madeleine capture the first dance through the Skylight roof, and I love the photo of Christina and Brian spinning, mid dance.  Then it was dinner and toasts, and back to the Skylight room at the Fairmont for a very fun dance party.  Thank you all for an awesome day, and please leave a comment if you enjoyed the teaser slideshow!
